The Banana cream pie is the epitome of culinary art. The cream was smooth, light with the right amount of sweetness. I could not stop licking the banana cream. The crust is a dream for every pie baker. The problem is that I can't stop at just one pie..×
I loved it but became a bit bored... its guys its a really nice place if u like deserts you won't get disappointed. Thanks to the helpful staff when i went first time had to ask so many times and they didn't even get irritated because of that they kept the store open for us late... love that..
Cakes & pastries that melt in your mouth! Absolutely brilliant! The slices just wont do, you will just end up buying the entire cake! If you want to order your birthday cake, this is where you want to get it from!×
Widely considered one of the best bakeries in the city, Spoonful Of Sugar has perfected many things, including cakes, brownies, and tarts. The cheesecakes, in particular, makes me swoon. Sandwiches, quiches, and lasagna are also on offer if you need something deliciously substantial before a fruit tart, banoffee pie, or a walnut brownie. It's an excellent place to take a delicious break near Indiranagar.
A lavish devotion to seasonal ingredients, simple flavors layered in interesting ways makes this my favorite spot for desserts.
It may seem overpriced, but delivers accordingly & never fails to feel like a special-occasion splurge.
Cute place. Luckily hit it during off hours, so it wasn't super crowded. Small space, but decent sandwiches. Save room for dessert. Luckily they have the mini ones that make the guilt a little less. Who can say no to a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting?
The BLT was fairly tasty. And cheesy grilled sandwiches were good on a cool outdoor day. Open seating outside....
If you want to pamper yourself with sweetness, this is the perfect place. This small cafe will meet your sweet tooth needs. Everything is delicious, but my personal favorite is Red Velvet cup cakes.
One bite of that scrumptious cupcake will take all your troubles away.
I'm calling out to all the ladies out there, do try out this place!
I have been going to the SOS since 2009, and quite frankly, I am surprised by some of the reviews written about the shop. Yes, their prices are high, but not once, in the last 5 years, have I been served a product that is of compromised quality. In fact, their desserts are not just good, they are simply outstanding. Not trying to show off here, but I have lived in London, Paris, and Geneva, and tasted some of the most exquisite cakes, breads, and pastries in the world, and I must tell you that the spoonful of sugar is the only dessert place in Bangalore that has matched the same quality and taste. In Bangalore, SOS is my ONLY go-to shop for anything sweet. I am happy to pay the price because of how satisfied I feel with their products. Their red velvet, brownies, Oreo excess, chocolate fudge, cheese cake (baked), BLT sandwich are some of my all-time favourites.×
"The feel good experience"
Everything at this cozy place is yummy. My friend and I came here on a Sunday evening and literally got high on the sinful tasty desserts.
The mini fruit tart is a delight. Also, walnut and lemon meringue are a
must try :-) :-)
Every penny spent here is worth it. Do visit!!
For me it's double dhamaka! Enjoy all the divine deserts and learn to take some joy home by learning some of the yummmmmiest deserts under Chef Yuvna :-)!×
This is undoubtedly the best place to end up your meal. All the deserts are heavenly and made with perfection. The Rasberry and Bailey's desert is to die for. Don't be shocked to find the place closing at 9 because all their deserts are almost finished by then. Its always better to drop at odd hours. It may look expensive at first but once you taste these awesome deserts you would love to come here again and again.×
This small little place can make you happy BIG TIME!!! Like a spoonful of sugar make the medicine go down, the desserts here can make a bad day go away. You don't care about the high price when you have such fine food to savour.Everything is a class apart to look and taste. Noteworthy are their cheesecakes, pies, quiches, sandwiches, tarts, hummus etc. The place has around 6-7 tables(Wish it had some more) but besides that the place is always crowded. Lot of options and a quick service. I call this my happy stop, so stop by this place for a great experience.×
Best fresh fruit ice cream in town. Closely followed by their banoffee pie. Both are cakes i have ordered for birthdays, have had people wipe the cake clean in a matter of seconds and howl for more. Yep, normal, grown up people. Superb experience dealing with the folks here and getting orders fulfilled. And it has been consistently great over the years, with my first experience with them dating back a good 6 odd years.
The dips are something else, too. At different times, I have eaten their basil & tomato pesto, babaganoush, roasted red pepper. Again, same phenomenon. Bring the jar home and before you know it, its all gone. Some serious talent, out here!
Limited food menu, but everything on it is just awesome! Widespread and tempting dessert selection makes you want to order it all. Their herbed chilli cheese sandwich is to die for! The paper thin pizzas are also worth a try. Don't go in a if group as the place just has about 5-6 very small tables. Perfect place for a date or good conversation in Bangalore's awesome weather. A small peaceful cafe, a must try!×
SOS, is undoubtedly the best place for the yummiest desserts in Bangalore
This being said from someone who loves their banoffee pie, quiche & hummus.Order them for all birthdays/occasions
The place has been offering the yummiest pastries with the same quality & taste on a consistent basis
If you want to have the best- you must visit SOS. All friends /relatives who visit bangalore always want to have their pastries & always come back for their second treats
SoS has been in the market specialising in pastries which one can definitely not compare to any other pastry shop
All good things come in small packages which makes your money worth the spend!!!!
One of my favourite places for desserts in town.
Love the blueberry cheesecake here. It's the best I have had in a long time.
The sandwiches are also really good.
I have never been disappointed by anything I have tried here :)
Love this place, ALWAYS! Only sad part is that it shuts early. So if you have a craving for the absolutely delicious Mississippi Mud pie post 8:30 pm, you have to save it till the next day! The Blueberry Cheese Cake is really good as well but the MMP is a must-have. Also tried the pesto-mozzarella-tomato sandwich and it was excellent. Overall, SOS never disappoints you! Indulge, for this place is second to none.×
Absolutely loooove their Mississippi Mud Pie! That is a must try. Its one of the best bakeries I have been to. It seems a little pricey at first, but everything about those pieces of pies/cakes is worth every penny.×
My 'when in depression, eat here' place. The banoffee pie will keep bringing you back. The lasagne is full. Of flavours. The Oreo mousse cake looks small but is very potent. The tiny meat tarts are amazing. The crackers and dip is really fun to munch on. And the best part is its pet friendly. The iced tea is yum too.×
I can just keep talking bout this place...I think you get the most amazing pastries in the whole of Bangalore...it's a lil over the budget...but the point is the pastries here please you so much that to cant resist to grab another one....am just feeling bad that it does not have a branch any wer else....it's very far from my house ....but definitely worth it...TRUST ME!!!...I don't mind travelling 20 Kim's to taste that Oreo mousse cake....I just hope the start a new brach some where in south Bangalore......×
Spoonful has always been my go to place for desserts. It is THE patisserie to which I compare most other, and not many have matched up. Was very excited to know that they now savory stuff on the menu as well making its a great place to go to for lunch and even in the evening :)
Though I would say everything is a must try. My personal fav is the banofee pie with sliced bananas on it, its divine!!! Also, highly recommend the cheese cake and chocolate mouse. The lasange is amazing and so are the tarts. Actually everything :)
Spoonful of Sugar has been our go to place for birthday cakes, wedding cakes, great coffee, delicious hot chocolate and scrumptious food - and they have never disappointed. There are a bunch of cafes in and around Indira nagar but there's a reason we keep coming back here and that's quality. If you're around Indira nagar or anywhere in Bangalore for that matter, and you want delicious food and mouth watering desserts, a 'Spoonful of Sugar' is what you need.×
The Raspberry Marscapone Tart is world class! A must try desert place tucked away in Indiranagar - the best I've been to in Blr.×
Absolutely the best desert place in bangalore, I love their lasagne n sandwiches too, cup cakes n mud pie r to die for!!!
----- 15 Jun, 2013 -----
Awesome for desserts...... The menu on zomato is not updated.. Lots deserts.
Came here to try the Strawberry Tart yesterday.Out of this world! The taste of the REAL ingredients versus fake stuff that most other bakeries use came through beautifully.Price? Well you can't ALL the best things in life free:). Worth every dime. Will return again for sure!×
I had ordered a Red Velvet Cake for my mother in law's birthday last week. The cake was moist, delicious and the icing was lovely. Everyone finished the cake down to the last crumb:)
Service is prompt as I have ordered from them before and the cake is always ready on time. The owners/chef are always around to help you choose a cake to your liking and they will go the extra mile to customize something to your taste.
Love this place.Big fan.
Best desserts in Bangalore. People who are rating this 1 and 2 should really go live outside Bangalore and taste real desserts that have flavour instead of just sugar!
Tiny place, friendly staff, and recently I found the coffee and sandwiches are also really good!
Only thing is that it is a little expensive.
The name "Spoonful Of Sugar" is extremely misleading.. It should be called a "Bite Of Heaven" instead. Just happened to drop in on the way to Cakewalk and i've fallen in love with the place.
Tried the Lemon Tart,Rich Chocolate Pastry and the Sticky Choco-Walnut Cake. The walnut cake had a little too much walnut for my liking, but the other two were heavenly. Tried the Chicken Quiche which is way better than what some 5 star restaurants serve.
On my second visit, the Raspberry Mascarpone Pie and Blueberry Cheesecake were my companions but the star attraction - the Baileys and Raspberry Gateaux was missing again. Hopefully, third time's the charm...
Just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down! Named after the song from the legendary Mary Poppins, this cute and cozy place has become one of Bangalore's most iconic dessert joints. The dessert menu gives you a variety of small, medium and large sized desserts to choose from. The menu includes a selection of cupcakes, bars and squares, rich cakes, pies and of course, the city's favorite- cheesecakes!
You don't have a sweet tooth? Not to worry, Spoonful of Sugar has a dynamic and delectable daily menu of sandwiches, salads, pastas et al. For the thirsty, you can chose from coffees, teas and flavoured iced teas.
In my opinion, for a dessert joint, the menu has quite a bit to offer. No matter what your grouse against sugar is, the items on the menu are truly irresistable!
Established in a house in Indiranagar, the place has limited seating. The ambience created is rather affectionate and cozy and that dessert rack will keep you salivating. On a busy day, remember, the early bird catches the prey. The innovative use of greens and whites on the walls, sets a warm modern tone to the interiors of the place. For those of you who wish to smoke or catch up on some reading, the tables outside (if you get a seat!) will prove to be the perfect spot. As a baking enthusiast, what makes this place special for me is that you get to walk through the kitchen to go to the restroom. With all those familiar sugary, buttery smells there is no doubt that you will work up an appetite. All in all, it makes me want to go back every saturday afternoon in the hope of finding a seat.
Hats off to the owner for being a constant smiling presence in the midst of the very many grumpy seatless customers. Her presence adds that extra personal touch to the eatery. The staff is very responsive and hospitable. They will always put a smile back on your face. There is commendable effort from the staff to make you feel absolutely comfortable. Look out for that face behind the cash counter, he never stops smiling!
Billy Joel's historic song, We didnt start the fire can be rewritten with the array of desserts this place has to offer. The Walnut Meringue is devilish and the Oreo Sin-phony Bar is sinful, yet there is something absolutle divine about the place.
The desserts (which are absolutely delectable) apart, the pesto chicken sphagetti, the lasagna and the salads are rather good for a patisserie. They also have pita bread, Hummus and dips to take home. My advice- go there everyday of the week and try something new!
What I love about the food here is that they have taken classic desserts such as brownies, chocolate cakes and meringues and have added that wow factor to make them interesting. Cheese-fudge brownie, walnut meringue, Belgian Choco Strawberry cake are a few of these sinful improvisations. While the sweet flavours remain very simple in nature, the combinations keep you wanting more. For those of us fruit lovers, it is the perfect place as they have more options than the gelatin packed blueberry cheesecake or the strange & inedible colourful looking cakes we get outside.
It is the perfect place to order your birthday cakes from as you can chose from a variety of fruit and chocolate gateaux.
For a nice lunch with desserts and beverages for two, it would cost you between Rs 800-1000.
I would rate the place 8.5/10. Just try it out and worry about the gym later! If you don't have a seat and you find one single person greedily sitting at one of the tables on a Saturday afternoon, you'll know it's me!
A compact little place just for desserts, Spoonful of Sugar has a few tables both in and out of the outlet. Tucked away in an alley in Indiranagar, you will be spoiled for choices with the variety they hold.×
A bit pricey, but they might very well be the best dessert place in Bangalore. The Mississippi mud pie would be their piece de la resistance for a dark chocolate fan like myself. But that shouldn't take away any credit from everything else they have to offer. From the cheese cakes to the tarts, they lead you to believe that everything underwent secret underground testing for years to perfect the art of making whatever they have to offer. I wish they'd stay open past 8:30 p.m though. By the time I get done with work, they're already closed. *sigh*×
I have been to Spoonful of Sugar a couple of times and i just love the taste. Whatever i have tasted is been the best. Can you please suggest me the best cake which i should order for my aniversary?×
A dessert lover's delight! Fruit tarts and cheesecakes are must haves at this place!×
I was just reading some of the uncanny comments by some people. FYI the staff are not unfriendly. Infact they have a lot of class!!! I have immense respect for the owner. SOS pay great attention to detail and customer satisfaction; not to mention the fact that they also have incredibly delicious pastries and they bring about a menu that is global and current in nature; not outdated unlike some places. So people who have posted stupid comments. Keep these comments to yourself as SOS rocks! And about "over-hyped"- this place uses the best ingredients to create perfection. So HA! Cheers to SOS xoxo×
Best pastry chef in town, offering the most mouth watering selection of desserts in her dessert cafe, Spoonful of sugar. What I like about them the most is their penchant for quality ingredients and their consistency in taste through the years!!
I've been one of her ardent customers from the inception of her place and have loved the Oreo cookie cheesecake, the Hazelnut meringue and the chocolate truffle, to name a few! I would suggest everybody craving for lip smacking desserts to head there...!
I am planning a trip to Bangalore very soon, I live in the UK and I just keep hearing amazing things about SOS, I am beyond excited to experience this place and see the Chef and try the wonderful pastries and desserts, really looking forward to it as I am an aspiring pastry chef and successful businesses like this are eye opening.×
Absolutely smashing desserts and great service every time I have visited... Which is pretty often! Keep up team spoonful :)×
Rated I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about SOS.
People I meet around town and also from OUT OF TOWN seem to know of the place and recommend it.
Word has spread so far and wide about this cosy little place, that on one of my cousin's recent trips to New York,he met two people who asked him if he had been to Spoonful Of Sugar , after they found out that he was from Bangalore.
The only negative reviews I see are on Zomato.Other websites like burrp, timescity, asklaila all have positive( probably rightly so) reviews.
Anyway, here goes.
I visited the store for the third time last week and as usual, I left more than satisfied.
This place takes desserts to a new level altogether! They have a collection of desserts and cakes to match The Hummingbird Bakery in the UK and also Magnolia Bakery in New York.
Having travelled the world on work and on leisure,I can vouch for their product. One can't put a finger on what makes their stuff so perfect, and when that happens, you know that all signs point to the INGREDIENTS.
The service so far has been more than impeccable. The small cafe cum patisserie is well equipped with staff.
They have 4 tables, but always 2-4 servers available. The space is clean and the ambiance transports you to a quiet street somewhere in Europe or even in London.
No wonder it has its loyal followers and customers, because it takes a fine eye to notice what they are giving us in the form of a service and product.
I thank my stars I stumbled upon them, and I won't go back to any other newbie type of cupcakery or patisserie for they all promise great things but never deliver as well as SOS does.
My recommendations are : try one item from every part of their menu.
Their coffee is one of the best I have tried in the world! And there are many people who don't have a sweet tooth but vouch for just their coffee and savouries.
Their main courses , pasta and sandwiches are innovative, original and so damn tasty!
Their tarts, cupcakes, desserts and latest addition - their breads make me come back for more each time.
Kudos to Team SOS for giving us a blessing in disguise.
Good luck and keep it up.
Spoonful of Sugar is the first thing which comes on my mind whenever I want to eat desserts. Fantastic place, fantastic taste and you have a lot to choose from.×
A staple at all my friends and families birthdays, the cakes at spoonful of sugar are a league apart. They also have lovely sandwiches among other savory items, and a yummy selection of cupcakes and pastries. I love their fresh and rich ingredients as well as their unique combinations. If you're really lucky you may run into the owners on your next visit, they're as sweet as their desserts are!×
This place has a very laid back atmosphere where you can thoroughly enjoy the mouth watering pastries and brownies. I strongly recommend the extreme oreo pie and the mississippi mud pie! Both are puree bliss and to die for! having a bad day and looking for comfort food? be sure to head to spoonful of sugar cause it leaves you with a heart full of happiness! Love the place and anyone who visits will have a similar experience i'm sure. The prices might hurt a bit but its totally worth every penny!×
The cakes and deserts at Spoonful of sugar are heavenly! out of this world! Completely mouth watering. They are expensive, no doubts about that., but the moment you take one bite, it is just sinful pleasure! the Mississippi mud pie and the chocolate moose cake is must must try!×
Best place! If you are eating anywhere in Indiranagar, you have to go have your dessert at this place everytime! A very small place but just awesome! Though my experience with eggless cakes here has not been very good, but definitely the best compared to any other bakery around!×
Make sure you go there with a pocketful of money, or else you'll really get just a spoonful of sugar! :D
Jokes apart, it is a fantastic dessert place. I'm not much of a dessert lover with a crazy sweettooth, but the thought of the Banoffee Pie, the Oreo Pie and the Mississippi Mud Pie make my mouth water. World class desserts. I suggest you skip all other dessert places, just go here when you have a sugar craving!
I just don't have the words to express my experience at this place.
D best place in bangalore for people to love desserts.
A must must place to visit in Bangalore.
Cannot get over the cheesecakes and the specially crafted cakes made to order.
This place has it all what you need.
This place is a perfect example for a explosion in a tiny package. A very small place at a lane of the main road. Their SOS cupcakes, cake pops, fruit tarts, hot chocolate are few must tries.×
Expensive but they really know how make cakes and desserts. My favorite would be Blueberry Cold Set cheese cake. Ambiance is one thing they have to work on but the taste compensates it.×
Brilliant deserts - wifey had banafee pie ( a pie with banana toffee) and I had the apple pie derivative . Both were brilliant. The place is very small though probably 4 tables.×
The Mississippi Mud Pie is so delicious. The short crust pastry crumbles beautifully in your mouth. The flavours are brilliant. A must visit for people with a sweet tooth.×
The desserts here are insane!! Especially if you're a chocolate lover. The outlet is pretty small but considering its just dessert shop its fine. This place is a must visit for those who have a sweet tooth!
I would have given this a 5/5 if their pricing was a tad cheaper.
Now, now, now where do I start? This has become my favorite dessert place. Order anything here and you are in a treat.
Two things they can definitely improve on :-
Spoonful of sugar, the only word that comes to mind is yumm.. And the other sentence I can think of is 'it's Ok, sell one kidney'. Coming to the ambience, there's nothing much to talk about it, as there's barely any seating place, will accommodate 2-3 people inside where it's air conditioned and has two stone slab tables outside which cramping-ly will accommodate 4 per table. Now coming to the point, the food, desserts rather. It is absolutely wonderful and delightful and amazing and what not. Been there twice and haven't tried everything there as I'm not really ready to sell one of my kidneys, coming to that, the pricing is probably what you'd see a 5-star restaurant charge for their desserts. Very expensive. But there's nothing to complain as the quality is as good. Do try the original banoffee pie as it is one of the best if not THE best in Bangalore. The Caesar's salad is Bliss too. Would definitely recommend it for the pastries.×
There's always something in this place that draws me towards it. And this time, it was their original banofee pie. It was gooey, had that very caramel-y banana filling and just the right amount of pie crust. The dish was over inside a minute, along with every little crumb. The mini cupcakes were adorable and even more delicious. Look forward to visiting it each time.×
This cosy place is perfect for all your sweet indulgence and craving. You will be spoilt for choice and making it difficult to choose from the array of desserts. My favorite among the lot from my numerous visits is the red velvet cup cake, sticky walnut chocolate cake, banoffee pie. Must try and definitely recommend this place.×
Rated Spoonful of sugar is a quaint , cafe cum bake house in the by lanes of Indiranagar . I would have never imagined that a place like this can serve you oodles of joy in form of everything sweet and pretty !!
This cafe is all white and pink , and has an extensive menu of everything sweet . From cheesecakes , cupcakes, pies and you can name it all .The menu has so many options that it can spoil you for choice .
The baked blueberry cheesecake is my personal favorite , perfect amount of sweetness and a good change from the usual chocolate ones. Perfect as birthday cakes too . The salted caramel cheesecake is a must try too.
The banoffee pie is also delicious and serves as a birthday cake too.The red velvet cupcake is heavenly and the butter cream icing a dream. Loved it !
They have giant cupcakes in the menu , would love to try it someday .
Apart from this , they have a blackboard menu and serve sandwiches , quiche , lasagna and many more items all freshly made. I have also seen in-house jams and marmalade for sale , would love to try them some day .
The prices are a bit steep but worth every bite. The taxes they add in the bill are a bit on the heavier side , few minus points for that , other than that a great place for all sugar addicts !!
I have been to Spoonful of Sugar only twice, but I feel they are the one of the best dessert places in Bangalore.
The seating area is quite small, especially if one contrasts it with the variety they offer in desserts. Even their walnut brownie is lip-smacking! A must try place if you like sinfully digging into high-calorie desserts :) !
What to eat, What not to eat..This little hole in the wall place brings shades of happiness no matter what you pick to eat. You can choose to indulge or play safe & healthy. Salads to choose from, Lip-smacking Sandwiches which are extremely filling, Creamy Pastas and the Desserts which are smothered with love & finesse. The rustic greens of the place ensure its a sight for the eyes. A quiet evening with the spouse, A quick afternoon lunch with the girls, or Catching over some desserts, this place never seems to be a let down.
My must-haves include Chicken Quiche, Veg Tarts, Fresh & Crispy Salads, and the longer list of desserts include the Banoffee Pie, Sticky Chocolate Walnut Cake, Mini Eclair...Ermm..I reckon pretty much everything on dessert listing is a must-try if not must-have..
Now this indulgence is worth that extra penny :)
As I wrote at the beginning of this review, What to eat, What not to eat remains the question.
Rated "A cute hole-in-the-wall eatery that is almost easy to miss in the chaos of Indiranagar . As soon as you enter , you are enveloped with the smell of macaroons and cheesecake , a most delicious combination .
I decided to indulge my sweet tooth and ordered myself the Banofee Pie and the red velvet cupcake . The Banoffee Pie , in no better words was ""The"" most gastronimically delicious item I have ever eaten . The Toffee and the whipped cream blend together most artfully amidst the biscuit crumb like base and it almost pained me to not let myself have a second helping to the rich dessert . The red velvet cupcake though delicious in its own right could not live up to the hype created by the Banofee Pie , which meant I had no choice but to order myself another dessert so as verify if all other items on the menu were mediocore after the Banoffee . The Oreo Cheesecake I ordered ensured me that was definitely not the case . Rich and moist , it was a dessert fit for the Queen .
The ambience is complimented with the cute fairy lights and homely atmosphere created and makes you want to stay inside the warm bakery forever . The only downer to my experience was the quality of the service as I had to request for my glass to be washed twice due to the soap marks on it . The waiter did not seem to be in any hurry to replace my soapy glass and kept me literally waiting for a good ten minutes for the bill .
However I would still rate my experience at S.O.S a good 4.5 on 5 as the ambience and the food successfully surpassed my expectations. Thoroughly happy with my dessert selection , I exited , possibly weighing twenty kilos excess to how I had arrived . So a word of caution to the health freaks out there , stay clear of S.O.S unless you are ready to kiss that carefully maintained diet of yours good bye .
I ordered from this place through swiggy for 2 chocolate cupcakes, for Rs. 200. Ended up getting a mini muffin with choco cream on top( Although it was delicious ) :(×
The exotic fresh fruit gateau is a mind blowing cake. This is a definitely must try thing. I think almost all the desserts served here are great. A quaint little place in indiranagar opposite of toit.×
SOS is the best patisserie the city has . Their desserts are to die for . Indulgence without guilt coz it's worth every bite. The ingredients taste rich and real. Red velvet is my favourite cake every visit.×
Cute little cubby hole in indiranagar. You go inside and you are confused by the sheer options and of course wanting to have all of them. My personal favourite is the walnut meringue which I used to just love from the old 'herbs and spice' days!×
The red velvet cake is in literal sense a "Stairway to heaven"
Would recommend everyone to go there!!!
This place is totally a bliss for people with sweet tooth like me. A little place with minimum seating both outdoor and indoor, and is tucked inside a cross road in indiranagar. They are well known for their baking classes. They have a lot of news paper article written about them. Bluberry cheese cake which the chef recommended as their signature dish, is absolutely delicious. Vanilla ice cream with Brownie, red velvet cake are some other things on my favourites list. Totally a must visit place.×
Paradise for dessert lovers . One of the pioneer places for home baking. The desserts are well ranged over fruits to chocolate and hence everybody has something to look forward to here . The bannoffe and Mississippi mudpie are the must haves here . The desserts look so appetising that you'll forget to ask if they contain egg , and directly dig into them .×
Rated Spoonful of Sugar is THE place you go when you have that sweet tooth and an insatiable craving for yummy dessert. Enter the cafe, and the very ambience perks up your mood for all the sweetness in store. It's small but wonderfully cosy. You might find it difficult to take your eyes off all mouth watering desserts on display and actually place your order. But, you must, and whatever you choose you will not be disappointed.
My number one favourtie is their Banoffee Pie - Its THE BEST i have ever had. EVER. Ask for it with a topping of sliced bananas. It is so good, i order it every time i go, and pack another one to share (with my future-self).
Their red velvet cupcake is again among the finest in the city. They have a mini cupcake too, though I doubt anyone would be satisfied with a mini version of something this delicious.
Other desserts I have tried there include the Lemon Maringue Pie, the fudge brownie cake, Creme Brulee and the salted caramel cake. While both the Lemon Meringue Pie and Creme Brulee was outstanding, the fudge brownie cake was just average. It wasn't as stunningly awesome as I expected it to be. Now, the salted caramel cake is not for everyone, its a little different, a near perfect blend of sweet and salt is a refreshing change, but IMO the slice we tried was slightly too dense.
They also have a savoury menu with sandwiches and pasta dishes. None of which i have tried, for two reasons: one, we always go here just for dessert and two, it feels a tad bit overpriced in comparison to their dessert selection.
I also noticed they sell dips and spreads like hummus, pesto etc. Never got around to trying them though. In fact, even their desserts are slightly expensive but when they do it so well, you really won't mind paying. I've always stuck to their desserts and that has never disappointed. Their Banoffee Pie is life changing. Period.
Rated I have done business with SOS a few times and I have been very happy with everything- that goes for service, the menu, the treats for the taste buds and wonderful Home delivery service too. The ambiance is lovely and serves the purpose just fine considering that they allow pets so its got to have an outdoor space and indoor; I have been to the location thrice or maybe 4 times with family and friends and loved the experience everytime.
To my surprise the 1st time I learnt that it was Pet-Friendly too. Something pretty amazing I believe in a city such as Bangalore and the area it is located at. We had my Daughter's Birthday cake made to order (Custom) and the result- Great! I was more than happy; not to mention the look on my 2yr old's face when she saw all 3 of her Dog's portrait on it. That said yes it is expensive but there is no hard and fast rule that if you enter you have to purchase something. Like all other places, you can walk out if you don't like what you see; however if you still choose to taste and see what its like, then it is quite irrelevant to blame prices. Instead keep the feedback related to quality of what you tried and I am also sure that SOS is very open to and glad to receive feedback. Downright degrading is not what a true foodie would do, but constructive criticism would obviously be a better idea for everyone- SOS and the customers i.e.
Overall I would say that we enjoyed it every bit and yes the sandwiches and cakes that I had were yummmmmmm.
"We'll Be Back!"
Feedback: Get a bigger place and you will reap the benefits even more. People need to know where the magic comes from and how? Maybe a bigger place will allow you to show of the magic that goes into doing what you do.....
"All the best and keep the Sinful Sweetness coming" :-)
A very posch place to pamper your tongue with sweetmeats .This is a place where you get customized home made dessert, loved their carrot cakes n blueberry cakes. Try this place when you have just recieved your pocket money or salary ... :p:p×
Spoonful of sugar is one of my favourite places in all of Bangalore!
Firstly- I love the location! It's away from the hustle bustle and it's stone seating on the outside is just adorable!
I love how their staff even wears little pink aprons!
The desserts there are so beautifully crafted, I must say that there is so much thought behind designing each one of them.
My absolute favourites are the bannoffee pie, the cake pops, salted caramel cupcakes, fruit gateaux, red velvet, Mississippi mud pie, Oreo pie and the specials (including the rainbow cake and today's Irish slice)
The food menu here is just as yummy and the mushroom and cheddar sandwich will leave you craving for more!
However, I do agree that the entire affair is a bit heavy on the pocket, but I personally believe the experience is worth it- friendly staff, beautiful food and quaint seating!
A must try!
Sos, is a legend, when it comes to Patisserie's, not just in Bangalore but all over India. I have been visiting this place, since its inception. The flavours which comes on one's palates from SOS, can hardly be matched by anyone else. The Price for 2 @ 500 mentioned on zomato is perfect, I'm sure my peers with the same passion would agree on every penny or paise spent at SOS.
Patisserie's are all about the high quality ingredients and the ambience! SOS gives that in PERFECT PACKAGING.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND WE ALWAYS SUPPORT YOU!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!
It had given me a mad hungry love for desserts. Their cheesecakes, their banoffee cake, their tartes, their rich chocolate cakes, their devils food cake, their choco pop, their meringues, their cold coffee, their pasta, their tuscan sandwich, their salmon sandwich, their bacon pizza, their chicken lasagna, their pastas, ... - basically everything - tastes AWESOME!!
Must go here otherwise it is a sin if you call yourself a person (especially a foodie) from Bangalore.
Raised in the food capital of the India, and spoilt by one of the best dessert places in india, I was taken by surprise with the offerings at spoonful of sugar. Never had I tasted such unique flavours, which took me back to my school days in The Champagne egion, France, where almost everyday day, I enjoyed hanging out at some great patisserie
This place can't get more authentic and I love how it stays true to it's USP, unlike other joints which keep adding weird Indian flavours.
Its amazing to indulge yourself once in a while. The Banoffee pie is one such relish. The cup cakes are something you really cant miss! For the ones who have a sweet tooth. Try it for sure:)×
Rated I am surprised with the negative reviews here.and i think they are all lies...me and my wife have been there many times.we have been to a lot of places in fine dining, and all over india, trust me.
one of our fav places in india is Indigo deli in andheri west,.which was close to where we lived in versova.bombay has the best of places in fine dining and we have been to mostly all of them.
and i can easily say that SOS is one of the best in india.
Yuvna is one of the sweetest people i have met and we are glad we met another talented person.
Evrything is perfect about SOS.the ambience is sweet,as the people working in.and the deserts are perfect.PERFECT.
And Soon they will be opening up in gurgaon.why do you think they are becoming successful,if they dint have good Gourmet deserts ! We recomment this place to anyone who wants gourmet deserts and at this reasonable rate.Good things in life aren't cheap people.
We love SOS .Keep rocking Yuvna. You rock.
Why bring people down when your Call is to lift others up ?
IF people aren't talking bad things about you , then your definitely doing something wrong . I've never been disappointed in the quality of spoonful of sugar which will continue to be the number one go to place in my mind starting with a quick pre work expresso to a mid day snack or treat. price should never be an issue if your going for quality and not quantity and thats what spoonful gives you. i personally love it and would vouch anyone in bangalore to hit up the place when in town . the place is cozy with a homeful touch and the owner is an even bigger gem . hopefully an outlet to open in goa soon .!!×
Seeing the counter with so many options to choose from was indeed a pleasure. Apart from being all colourful it looked delicious too. I guess I've tried most of the items made out of chocolate and there is absolutely no disappointment there. The chicken lasagna is good too. Having a sweet tooth, this small yet cute place is not to give a miss. It is slightly on the expensive side though.×
This place is expensive on pocket and yum to palate.
Their gateau's are amazing, especially, strawberry and mango.
Cheese cakes melt. I thoroughly enjoy their tarts, pie's and lasagna.
I believe, price should not bother much for such good food.
Do not dine in. place is too small to think of.
This is a very cozy place to have some awesome cakes, cup cakes and even pizzas. The best thing about this place is you have a lot of options when you want something spicy if you had enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. This makes it different compared to other places.
We had different varieties of cakes from here and all were very good. The thin crusted pizza was another delicious item we tried. And I will surely try the red velvet cupcakes on my next visit.
It is small place with limited seats, but I loved the overall sitting arrangement.
The pastries are very nice and certainly better than what you will find around most of Bangalore........
Even their savouries taste brilliant. Lasagna, sandwiches, cupcakes, tarts, anything that I have ordered so far hasn't disappointed me one bit. My personal favorites are Blue Berry Cheese Cake.......
Amazing Taste, Great Quality but Pretty expensive ...
My favourite desert place in Bangalore! Well it is conveniently situated in Indiranagar, not too far from my place fortunately! The thought of a visit to spoonful cheers me up (till the thought of calories strikes ofcourse!) Most importantly their deserts - they are to die for! Absolutely sinful.. the banofee pie is heavenly, so are the brownies, mud pies, cup cakes, oreo cheese cake, tarts! The banofee pie is a MUST TRY! They keep coming up with new varieties and season specials, most of which look very good and creative. I have not tried the sandwiches and pastas here though!
The place - It is a small cozy place, with not a very big seating area, but I think thats what makes it cozy and not crowded! It is pet friendly too (I am not a pet person) but I like the thought and concept..
I would have given it a five but it is little on the pricey side and thus the 4.5!
After a hearty brunch all of us headed out to spoon full of sugar. Its a small quaint little place which doesn't boast of a lavish ambiance but prefers to let the food do the talking.
So this is a list of all that we ordered:-
* Walnut Mirengue
* Mississippi Mud Pie (Im glad i spelled Mississippi correctly :-P)
* Three different types of Cup Cakes
* Lemon Tarts
* Hazelnut Mocha
There was NOT one item that disappointed. The first two items listed and the last Mocha were good enough to make you forget everything for an instant.
i would strongly recommend this place to anyone who has a sweet tooth !! even if you don't just try it out.. you might develop one ;-)
Blue berry cheese cake is the one yall should try !! The best of its kind avl here ... Well i like almost everything i had here but just cant keep up the names :) heaven for a sweet tooth .. Space is a constraint but i suggest a take away would suit better to enjoy with ur family .. Also mornings wpuld be a better time to visit to get the maximum options to choose from ! Cheers!!×
A tiny lil place that will surprise you with the variety of options it has. Its a sweet tooth paradise. I personally love their blueberry cheesecake, their Mississippi mud pie, cupcakes, brownie. Its my regular order. Their food options are limited but very very rich. Try their ice teas, it refreshes your day!! Oh, also they arent very pocket friendly so remember to carry your piggy bank, but, that being said, every bite is worth the penny.×
Small place located in a residential area..away from the noisy traffic... Not very easy to find if you dont have a GPS on your phone. Friendly staff.
Think its overpriced? I would say its worth every penny.
A piece of advice, never go to a place renowned for pastries and order an Italian pasta... you cant blame them if you get disappointed. Should have known there's a reason why they are called Spoonful of sugar.
Took me a tedious bus ride and shoe bitten ankles on a hot Sunday afternoon, only to get a taste of their Blueberry Cheesecake my friend was craving for...and for someone who wasn't a fan of cheesecakes, I just turned into one !!
I guess all the positive reviews that this place has received leaves me with very little to say. But still I guess the best place for desserts in Bangalore deserves some word from everyone who's been to it. I have been here quite a few times, and have loved the food. All in all, I must say that this place has become the benchmark against which I measure the other pastries that I eat.×
Rated If not for faults in the crust id give this place a perfect score. We were real gluttons and made a meal of the delicious desserts.
To start with we tried the mini cupcakes. The cake of both minis was great. Rich but fluffy. The cream cheese frosting was delicious though a bit crystalline in places. The salted caramel frosting was brilliant. So far the only place to get it right in town.
The éclairs were amazing. Actually probably my favourite dessert because every component was well-done and the combination worked. Delicious dark chocolate glaze, perfect fluffy whipped cream and nice airy pastry.
The big red velvet cupcake was good but somehow the smaller one was better. The chocolate ganache mini was the only disappointment. The crust was like a sad biscuit and it was too one note overall.
The nutella cheesecake was quite yummy. Again the crust was a bit of an issue. It was too hard and would not cut without toppling the cake. The cake had a saltiness to it that i think cones from adding salt to the cream cheese to keep the texture. It is really decadent but a must try for chocolate nut lovers.
The oreo milkshake was really nice too. It did not taste like soggy cookies dunked in milk nor was it too sweet.
The coffee was fresh pressed, sufficiently strong and a well balanced latte.
Overall the best dessert place I have been to in town. Keep an eye out for new branch with more seating room in Koramangala.
Ambiance- 3.5/5 small but clean
Price - 4/5 expensive but quality is worth the occasional splurge.
Rated Spoonful of Sugar is this beautiful little desert shop in Indiranagar. Take the lane right opposite to Toit and you will find a sign on your left at about 100 meters. My friend and I made a pit stop here post lunch on a Saturday to treat ourselves to one of their oh-so-yummy pastries.
The café/bakery is located in this quiet residential area. Even though they have a couple of indoor seats, we always choose to sit outside. The décor is simple yet charming and the staff are super friendly. I usually get the mango mascarpone during the mango season (a must have!) but this time I chose to have the chocolate walnut cake and my friend chose the red velvet cake. The slices are pretty big. Even though their offerings are on the pricier side, it’s still totally worth it!!
They also serve lunch and beverages, do ask the staff for the day’s specials. All in all, LOVE this place. It’s a delight to eat here.
Here’s the link if you wish to watch the video review to SOS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvHSi5kJgCs
Located in the interiors of Indiranagar, took me almost 20 minutes to figure out where exactly they are, SOS is a small shop serving amazing desserts.
I ordered for the SOS Fudge Brownie first, and I do not know how to describe it, should I say it was blissful, mouthwatering or heavenly??? I really don't know....All I say is it was yum and I enjoyed every bit of it. The picture uploaded by me would give you a better description.
Next, I ordered the mini cupcakes and they were fantastic too.
I also tried the Cheery Ice tea here and it was good.
Do visit this place and pamper yourself, after all it is just a Spoonful of Sugar ;)
During my visit to Bangalore I'd a chance to visit this cafe. I must say that the desserts don't only look S.I.N.F.U.L, they taste sinful too. As for the people complaining about it being high priced, must stick to the unhygienic and sad looking cafes that serve low quality dishes. This may not be the place for you if you are not a food enthusiast and do not have good food appreciation qualities. Wishing SOS and the chef great success and wishes for expansion to other cities too A THUMBS UP from me and a must visit for dessert lovers :-)×
Talk about desserts and SOS always tops the list for me. A cozy little place located in Indiranagar, Spoonful Of Sugar is heaven for people with a sweet tooth. Have been to this place many times n there's always something new n exciting on the counter. My personal favourite is the red velvet cupcake(mmmmm *_*). The chocolate based desserts are always awesome but the fruit based cakes n pies are also worth a try. They also have a lot of savoury items and have heard they're pretty good. The only negative point is about the price being a little heavy on the pocket but it's nice to treat myself once in a while. ;)
Ooh, n did I mention the place is pet friendly? :D (how nice is that!)
Loove the pies pastries and cakes here . Should have had more space to sit though . We ended up eating pies here for dinner and just couldn't stop eating them .×
There's sooooooo much sweetness to choose from! It took me a good 10 minutes to actually decide what I wanted to have. I literally liked everything they had on display.
Went in with a buddy and since she decided to go on the chocolate side with a Oreo cheesecake, I went the fruit & cream way and ordered for a Walnut Meringue. I remember trying the same 3 years ago and it just tastes as heavenly as it did the last time I had it.
Also their mini cup cakes just melt in your mouth. The red velvet is a must try!
If u r craving for something sweet to eat and looks beautifully delicious, look no further! Spoonful of sugar is what u r looking for. Its a cute little place for a tête-a-tete with ur bffs or boyfriends. This place offers sugar n spice n everything nice! We ordered a banoffee pie and a raspberry and Bailey's chocolate cake. I loved loved loveddd the banoffee pie!! Everything about it was super awesome. The cake was also good..but the bottom layer was a lil dry and didn't taste fresh. We ordered only two desserts because they r a lil too expensive for students like us..
The ambience was good and the place was packed with a happy crowd. This place is a must try!
The most decadent place for desserts. I've been here for 5-6 times and never been disappointed. The taste is always fresh and true to the ingredients. My absolute favorites are their Red velvet cupcakes, Apple pies, Tiramisu, Cheesecakes and Banoffee Pie. I think easily they have the best red velvet in town. Their display is just so mesmerizing and tempting, helps you decide what you want. Always tried something new and never have been disappointed.
The price is high but the portion and taste makes up for it.
It a dog friendly place so an added plus for this.
Probably the best standalone desert cafe in Bangalore. It is not easy to locate if you are not familiar with Indiranagar. The place is located in the ground floor of a residential building. Inside is a fairly small display counter with an assortment of pastries and fresh tarts. Considerably higher priced compared to any other similar cafe , the USP lies in the freshness of the ingredients used. The best are the tarts, the Lemon Tart literally takes the cake. The cheesecake was fine , though nowhere close to their best creations. The place is expensive, 2-3 pastries shared between 2 people with couple of coffees can set you back by a 1000 bucks. Wallet factor taken into consideration, it still comes across as a place which you would love to frequent.×
Spoonful of Sugar was one of the best random finds in Indira Nagar when me and my cousin accidentally stumbled upon this dessert heaven. Its a small shop which can probably seat 8-10 people as well.
They serve some snacks as well but I have never had them. I used to be the biggest fan of their Oreo Cheese cake which was just amazing. Their chocolate mousse is also very delicious. But recently I go there for their mini cupcakes which come in Red velvet (the best) and Chocolate flavors.
Amazing desserts, will keep returning.
The old adage that all good things in life come with a price tag is extremely true for this boutique patisserie. They make THE most delectable goodies in the city but extremely steep for your average sweet toother. Special mention for their Raspberry Mascarpone Pie, Lemon tart, Banoffee Pie, Red Velvet Cupcakes, Cheesecakes (okay the list continues, but I am sure you get the message, its amazing!). Its my go to place when sprits need to be lifted and food is the option! Be prepared to shell anywhere between 750-1000 bucks when you come here.×
We've been regulars of this quaint little place since 2010 and have recommended it to many with a sweet tooth.
The pricing may be on the higher side, but if one would like to enjoy the quality of the offerings thats a premium one has to pay.
Their sandwiches ( herbed chili cheese / tuscan chicken) and pastas are also legendary, many people directly go for the desserts and skip their savory offerings. amongst their desserts one definitely must try each and every one of them and ensure not to miss the fruit tart, banoffee pie, walnut brownie and the list goes on ...
P.S. if you plan to have dinner nd drop by for dessert, don't be surprised to find it closed, but an ideal visit for the evening ;)
Rated I had hearddd so much about this place and its crazy delicious cake from my friends who were residents around. So I visited the place one fine day. Its a small cute little bakery, the kind everyone wants to own. It even had these rough granite stone sitting area which made it cuter. It was a little difficult to find but thanks to google maps we got there alright. The staff was friendly and even gave us suggestions based on the flavours you like. I settled for a salted caramel pastry and my friend got herself a strawberry cake. The salted caramel was delicious, rich and absolute heaven. It had the right amount and measure of salt, wasn't overdone and very well balanced with the sweetness of the cake. The strawberry was a rustic cake baked with fresh strawberries within and served with a coulis. BRILLIANT. So good. I came back for another visit where i picked up an assortment of pastries for my sister's birthday. It included the salted caramel, a Baileys and raspberry- crazy good, a banoffee pastry and a chocolate truffle gateaux. Was the best cake she had, she said.×
Bloody brilliant desserts..!×
a perfect place to have cakes and paistries, heard abt this place thru a frnd of mine and headed to their indira nagar branch.. ordered a red-velvet cake, lemon meringue pie, veg alfredo pasta and a veg pizza... all of these were sooooo yummm.. in the whole of my life i have never had such beautiful, mesmerising and yummy cakes... the red-velvet cake was so yummmm... velvetty... and it is a real pride... the feeling was as in heaven.. lemon meringue pie omg that was stunning perfectly baked, creamy , lemony and was decorated so good... loved the place... .. the only concern was the customer service could have been lil more better by their staff members.. was slightly not satisfied with the customer service... the charm of the place is also in the hands of the staff-members also... otherwise a perfect place and i am a crazy fan of ur cakes... <3 u guys... :)×
Finally i visited the place which was on my list from a long time .... The show stealer was walnut meringue ... Mississippi mud pie was okay and mini red velvet cup cakes were good. Will certainly try more next time.×
Well every dessert you try here is unique... A small place but expertise is seen in every part. Wether it's a presentation taste consistency etc... It's been always high... E.g cream brûlée is always the same .... Had it some 5 times no difference in taste texture or any other parameter to judge...×
An absolute delight! The Oreo cheese cake and goey brownie were to die for! Loved it, it was fresh and soft and very very delicious 😀 absolute delight to a sweet lover×
Great desserts ...will surely keep going back for more...the tarts just yummy...cup cakes delicious...keep it up!×
I haven't experienced their dine-in service. But I must say we were impressed by the customer service. When my husband and I visited the store to pick up some impromptu treats for a mom-to-be, the lady at the counter was very welcoming. Not only did she take an interest in what we were looking for, but she also pitched in with a few ideas of her own! There are loads of pastry shops opening up and the only element that will distinguish them apart from quality is customer service!
Wonderful! I hope they keep up the good work. I especially loved the carrot cake pops and the mini cup cakes :)
Finally! we go visit the place that is a regular feature in the news. Almost instantly the passion that has gone in making this place is evident.
It's a quaint little corner that serves the desserts for the soul. The pastries and cakes have this - made at home - taste and feel And the coffee is well made.
Now we know why everyone loves this place so much.
Perfect place for a idle afternoon.
Haven't been there yet. So my review is based on my online order. Staff definitely seemed overworked. I think on a general note Zomato should add this as a criteria for rating restaurants.
Anyway, as I was saying the delivery came in close to 11 because there weren't enough staff to do the delivery. Usually they can't say no or else staff gets pulled up so they tend to stretch themselves to meet the targets.
Putting all that aside, the chocolate mousse cake was heavenly. I suspect this is written from heaven on Earth. Will definitely go pay a visit soon enough.
Hands down one of the best places to have some awesome dessert! It is more expensive than other places but once you take a bite of their cup cakes its all worth it. Absolutely love their cupcakes. Red velvet and the chocolate. Have tried their cheesecakes too. I am usually not a fan of cheesecakes but I really love the ones here. The one in indiranagar has an outdoor seating area too. Service is on point. Your sugar craving is satisfied here.×
A dessert should be like the rose tea cake that i had..at sos
It should melt in your mouth, there is feeling that reaches your soul and brings a smile on your face and when you are done the memory of it needs to linger for a while ;)
I am giving them 4 cuz i was not happy with the ceaser salad they served and the place looked a bit messy with tissues lying around
But a thumbs up for the variety of desserts and i will be going again and again to taste something new :)
It was a day after my boyfriend dumped me. OVER TEXT. WHAT AN A$$. I hope a bird poops on your car one day. Then you step on cow poop. In your new shoes. Bahahahaha 😈😈. Anyway my friend took me to this place. It was so cute and lovely! Just like me ðŸ’🻠(jk but hey i just got dumped so please pity me and let me say weird shit. I will be fine soon.) i got a red velvet cupcake. I was surprised bc this was legit! The cream cheese frosting was on point 👌ðŸ». I immediately forgot about my break up. Jk. But sugar always makes me happy. We went shopping after this ☺ï¸. When life gives you a lemon, make a lemon square! Dessert makes you happy. Life is short. Eat whatever you want ☺ï¸×
Rated Was having a serious dessert craving after what seemed like a long and irritating day. Remember this place being atop suggestions made by several foodie friends and that was good enough to motivate me to give it a shot.
First look at the desserts and it made me wonder, how come such a dull and half empty display counter would belong to a fancy dessert place. But well, it was 10:15 PM and semi counter only indicates that they have had enough customers during the day.
Ordered the following:
1. Banoffee pie - a dish I have restrained from eating much because of the presence of bananas (don't really fancy bananas in dessert). Checked and double checked with the staff as to why there was no banana topping (did not get a convincing answer - but was told he could add it if required- liked it better this way)
The pie had a layer of fresh and yummy cream, a layer of chocolate fudge, a layer of toffee, a well made crust and rest (if any) I am not too sure of.
- LOVED IT & Inhaled it like it was oxygen.
However, I am not sure if this could be classified as an authentic banoffee pie.
2. Cake pop - dense chocolate cake pop. Was pretty good!
Most of their desserts are priced at around INR.200+. Thats a tad too expensive; however, considering the quality of offering and the portions of some of these desserts the pricing could seem nominal.
The place though tiny, has a good feel about it. Does justice to the limited area available.
I was here almost in the closing hours and also ordered just a couple of desserts. Wouldn't be fair if I judged them for service based on this experience.
Would definitely like to revisit and try more of their offering; and definitely the banoffee pies too
I got to know of this place from a good friend of mine who is a foodie himself. I love the Carrot cake...its quite moist as compared to other places that have dry carrot cake. The lasagna was yummy , and so was the quiche. I have tried the apple crumble, fruit tarts which were yummy as well. Not very impressed with the baked cheesecake as the base is too smooth for my liking. Overall a good experience and must visit place.×
My favourite dessert place in Bangalore! Almost everything I have tried is really good and everytime i go there, i am never disappointed. The bannoffee pie is a must try! And so is the strawberry tiramisu. The food there is also really good - I would recommend the veg lasagna for anyone who loves cheesy food. All in all, this place is definitely worth a visit.×
Loved their Walnut Meringue , Raspberry Mascarpone , you dont find them in Blore. Their Chef Special was a mess, they had a pistacio and rubbery mango based pastry ..best avoided. Overall a good place for desserts .×
I'd say this is the best place I've been to in Indiranagar, although the pricing is a little steep. The banoffee pie, apple crumble and the mississippi mud pie are just heavenly. Definitely recommend.×
One of my all time favourite patisserie in the city! You may first notice the price to be a little expensive, but trust me, it's definitely worth every penny! The quality, variety and taste is what your paying for.
Their cake pops, tiramisu and pies are a must try!
Food : 4/5
Yummy cupcakes! They just melt in your mouth. Just a bite and its all over :(
Ambiance : 4/5
A small cosy place. Hidden find.
Service : 2.5/5
Cost for 2: Approx 500
I would eat up the entire place if I had enough money for desserts. Expensive but top quality fare here.
Gooey Choc Cake, Blueberry Cheese Cake, Raspberry Mascarpone, Original Banoffie Pie are recommended.
SoS definitely serves up some of Bangalore's best desserts! They are a bit pricey but u can't complaint considering their quality! ;)
Try out their red velvet cuocakes and sticky choco walnut cake! Yum yum yum.... :D
Aaawwwww..!!try the blueberry cheesecake.its heaven actually... Not toooo sweet also.. A person who don't like sweets will also love this cake. The cakes are priced too much but. And very cute ambience.×
Away from the regular hustle bustle of indiranagar lies this sweet little outlet with limited seating arrangements (indoors and outdoors).
I had been there last Sunday with a friend.
We ended up ordering pizza which was quite delicious especially considering the fact that it was a large thin crust veg pizza at Rs 230. We also ordered the herbed chilli cheese sandwich quite average.
The pick of the day was peanut butter and white chocolate cake, which is quite different from the regular pastries and brownies available tat side of town.
The other desserts seemed very tempting. Will try it the next time.
All in all a decent place to hang out on lazy evenings and overcome your Monday blues by the Sunday pastry treat. For me it's a 4 out of 5.
Awesome desserts tried almost everything .
It was all great. Few things were a bit over surgery but that's my personal taste.
My favorite in the desserts section!
Small yet sweet cafe. Variety of desserts that taste like they're freshly prepared, ranging from cakes to cupcakes. Must visit
Been here a couple of times. It's a nice, quiet place in the interiors of indiranagar. I've had the lasagna and I really, really liked it. For dessert I had the banoffee pie, it was amazing! You must try the banoffee pie! I thought the pricing was okay for the food they serve.
Quick tip: it's a great place for a first date.:D
Happy munching: D
Visited this place last friday with a friend from work. We reached at around 8 pm which is there closing time. But the host was so welcoming. We tried the red velvet cup cakes and oh my god love at first bite. bought blueberry cake and chocolate cake for my friends and they loved it to. i will be visiting this place soon as i want to try the chicken dish with baby potatoes and few more deserts.
P.S - i am not a desert person but i loved this place.
It has been found that occasional indulgence, though I stress on 'indulgence' with the utmost, is much better for one's health than regular consumption of delectables that, though splendid on the tastebuds, are rather inimical to one's constitution. This place is a remarkable purveyor of such goods and it takes a fair bit of restraint to avoid venturing there, if one's anywhere within its vicinity; such is its allure. That said, it may also be because such places are few and far between in BLR and after having consumed confectionery at many places in the city, there isn't a lot to compare it against. Many are the contenders but few possess the quality.
I reckon that the city has many ladies of leisure, who having had received gratuitous compliments on her desserts from friends and family, saw fit to open a patisserie, regardless of whether the larger populace would bestow her with the same compliments. Alas, that is not to be, since to provide such service professionally is far away than doing so for a table for ten. Many have failed miserably but they're still open,
Spoonful is not one of those places. Rarely have I walked away feeling that I've been short-changed, though some offerings have failed to hit the culinary bulls-eye, the Red Velvet Cupcake, being one of them. The modus operandi is quite simple: have lunch in I'nagar and make a pit-stop here, with a bunch of friends in tow. Order at least half a dozen items and consume them with a speed bordering on vulgarity, with a second thought given to neither fat nor sugar.
At times the crust is a bit undercooked, a mite tough, not velvety enough, a bit too dense, a bit too liberal with sugar, but more often than not, taking the average, the experience has been quite favourable. We keep going back for more. Anything with mousse is great, on our last outing, we had extra servings of the Mango Cheesecake. The Pavlova is splendid, the crust chewy with generous amounts of kiwi. Avoid the Blueberry Cheesecake because it tastes rather industrial. We ordered a cake made with fruits for a kid's birthday, with quite a few adults present and it vanished faster than a pitcher of LIIT.
That said, they could amend the pricing a bit. Butter, sugar and flour does not cost this much.
Spoonful desserts never disappoint... they are so good to taste... i think i have had all their desserts till now.. their dips and cup cakes are also good...
I always wondered how their sandwiches would be. So, went there to eat and dined in the little table there. The service is pathetic there. They didnt even serve us water. When asked, they acted casual and didnt bother still to give water.
I would buy desserts but never ever dine in there.
Want to try some yummy yummy yummy desserts which will blow your mind?? Head to this joint!!! The place is a bit small but really clean and tidy!! Amazing desserts!! We tried the salted caramel pastry which really really good!!! My daughter had singing called the cake pop which is a soft chocolate made into a lollipop... She liked it so much that she wanted one more:)
The desserts are a bit expensive but with every penny!!!
5 rating for the desserts!!! But 4 cos of the ambience!
A sinful pastry place. I just can't find enough of the places where they prepare such quality cakes. It is located on a corner in a house like patisserie close to 100ft road of Indiaranagar, beautiful spot I must say. Almost perfect place to have these lovely pastries. We had just finished a small get together at TOIT and were craving for sugar, literally. I remembered that we tried a place on this street sone time ago and came back to find this. Even though they were closing up and I mean literally closing by putting off everything in their stores and stuff, they still entertained us by asking to make our request. We obliged by trying out the rick chocolate and the Belgian chocolate cake. I saw them cut a slice from their big chunk of the cake. It was still moist and oozed rich quality chocolate from each spoon. Probably the best way to end our party. Will visit again with more sense and try out other stuff. Thank you!×
Rated Okay, let me tell you first things first. I am one of those blessed souls who stay a stone's throw away from this sweet heaven.(It's close to Nilgiri's on Sri Krishna temple road) .Touch wood. Now get jealous and read on.
This place is tiny(when I say tiny, it's TINY) and highly tidy. It is apparently managed by a lady who got smitten by baking and hence ventured into patisserie business.
The first time I got there( no guesses for what I ate), I had Walnut brownie. Yes, those little squares of infinite goodness. They were good. It didn't build such great impression but nevertheless tasty. Sometime later, I had to order cake for a friend and didn't have much time(nothing new!). I just hopped and was at this place. I ordered chocolate truffle cake. And when they handed it to me, it looked so gorgeous that I couldn't wait for the clock to tick 12. Boy, was that cake good? Surely, the best chocolate cake I ever tasted. It was not overly sweet unlike many other chocolate cakes. The next time I landed at that place I tasted their blueberry cheesecake. It was damn good. Why are cheesecakes so mean?(read fattening). We have ordered few kilograms of this mean cheesecake from here.
I can usually smell their cakes baking in oven every now and then as I walk past that place. It only tells how fresh each good on their rack this. Talking about price factor, everything on the menu was on the expensive side but totally worth it.
They now have casseroles, quiches, collection of tarts and many such things(I don't think they had them when they started off). There are quite a few things which they make on order. I am yet to dig into those savory delicacies. I am already wooed by this cute place and give it a double thumbs up.
PS: Do mesmerize your friends by ordering cakes from this place. I guess they specialize in that category.
Rated What do you do when you're stressed? Sleep? Punch something (or someone)? Yell out loud? Use one of those squeeze ball-thingies perhaps? How about 'turning it around' backwards and eating it? No really, try it. Because stressed, turned around backwards, is desserts. Coincidence? I'm not so sure.
A narrow lane off Sri Krishna Temple road, after Nilgiri's isn't the first place you'd imagine to find what is arguably Bangalore's finest spot of cakes, bakes, and pastries, but as luck would have it, it just is. Spoonful of sugar is a quite literally a hole in the wall, and until a couple of years ago didn't even have proper seating - it was more a take-away place. But all that has changed now - well, they have about 4 tables (3 outdoors and 1 indoor) - and although there has been a change in terms of seating arrangements, it has maintained the same high standards of everything it has to offer in terms of food.
Essentially, Spoonful of sugar is a place that serves (or sells) you dishes that in any restaurant would be categorised under 'desserts'. From cakes and pastries, to luscious cheesecakes and creamy tarts, they have them all. All the items are made only in limited numbers per day. The owner, Sangeetha Damani, says that they use only the freshest ingredients and so sticking to a fixed number helps maintain quality.
For those with a sweet tooth, some of the fastest moving items are the fruit tarts, the oreo cheesecakes, the banoffee pie, and the raspberry mascarpone pies. And it's not too hard to see why. The cream cheese and the mascarpone used in these dishes are extremely fresh, making them all that more delectable. There is also a baked version of the classic blueberry cheesecake which is sublime. They also take orders for cakes, and compared to the stores that 'mass produce' cakes, one can immediately spot the difference in the taste, in the richness that oozes from every bite of their cakes.
Spoonful of sugar also caters to those who wish to grab a bite of food. Primarily sandwiches and pastas, they also have some wonderful quiches and fresh dips that are served along with crackers. The hummus here can match the ones made at any top end restaurant in the city. My only grouse about the sandwiches are that they are made using sliced bread; perhaps a next step could be to offer a choice of bread, but I don't know if that would bode too well with the philosophy of the place. It is after all, a spoonful of 'sugar'.
When it comes to cost, Spoonful of sugar certainly charges more than any of your other cake shops, but you can easily see why. With ingredients as fresh as the ones used here as well as a quality that many will find hard to match, you will WANT to pay for their food. If you love desserts and can't settle at just one per person, then desserts for two can set you back by about Rs 400 or so. If, like me, you're get a little dessert starved, then you may spend a wee bit more. I personally have polished off Rs 800 worth of goodies here in one sitting, but then that's just me.
Well this is my go to place for desserts. It is an easy place to miss. A small cafe on one of those easy to miss galleys in Indira Nagar. But once you find this place it is like heaven. They have one of the most unique set of desserts anywhere in Bangalore. Their Oreo cheesecake is out of this World. Other must haves are the Banoffee pie, Salted Caramel cake made with sea salt and New York cheese cake. Their exotic fruit cake made with strawberries and kiwi is also delicious. In addition to their desserts, they also make a small selection of mains which are equally delicious. Also one of the few places where pets are allowed in Bangalore. Only downside is that they are ridiculously priced and that may deter people from trying their awesome desserts.×
The place is ridiculously popular among the dessert loving crowd, and rightly so. The desserts are delectable and the place is just right for an evening dessert. When I went there recently, there were bite sized macaroons and cupcakes that tasted divine.
Try the chocolate varieties, they never disappoint! It is really close to toit/glen's so you can just walk over!
It's a very small outlet. Sitting outside on the wooden benches is real fun. They offer a good variety of extremely delicious desserts. Mississippi Mud Pie looks beautiful and tastes great.×
Anytime you want a cake/pastries for home or for any special events, Spoonful of Sugar(S O S) is the place.
Tucked in a quiet by lane of a busy area, this place just makes you feel at leisure and so does their food.
Their Oreo cookie cheese cake is a must have and also their Red velvet cakes. Very soft, aromatic and pure indulgence.Had a hot cappuchino to compliment the dessert.Even their mud cake is so rich with fudgy chocolate and the hard crust makes it a perfect base for the amount of chocolate which goes into it.
Also chef yuvna has really put in a lot of effort to dish out such delicacies for all of us in the neighborhood.
A must try to all.
Ambience: 3.5/5food: 4.25/5price:3/5over all: 4/5
Unlike its many counterparts that are located right on the 100ft road, this place is located in one of the cuts inside. The place will definitely give you a sugar rush. We had the Red velvet cake and the Choc Mousse cake. The texture of cakes was really smooth. Must visit place. The seats outside are good and saw many people working on laptops here. Only let down was that we were swarmed by huge mosquitoes when we visited in the evening.×
It's a bit difficult to find in the interiors of Indira Nagar, but they have some real good desserts. Specially the Banoffee Pie was very good. Some would find it bit on steeply priced but a good place to visit once for sure.×
Awesome place for satisfying your sweet craving . the pies , the cupcakes and the cakes have loads of layered fillings -- fruits ,toffee, chocolate and cream topped , sometime Oreo , sometime chocolate dust... u shud try it to know how awesome they are
Must try : red vekvate cupcake , and the pies
Rated My cousin got some cupcakes packed for me and only 2 tiny red velvets survived the journey home. When I tasted them, I couldn't blame her selfishness. They were simply divine and I had go and get some for myself.
I am generally horrible with directions so this place which is not on the 100 ft road itself was slightly more difficult for me to locate. But hey, if choosing a slightly inner location is knocking a few bucks off my cupcake bill, be my guest!
If you're a Bangalorean and you love cupcakes, you know they're not easy on the pocket but Spoonful gives you some options. They have mini cupcakes which will feed the miser in you. And these let you try a bit of of every flavour. Their Red velvet cupcake is my absolute favorite and also the best I've had among all the cupcake places in that area. They get the the frosting just right here. I was lucky to find some still available as late as 7 in the evening; I've been told they run out pretty early in the evening.
Just as I was about to pay the bill I noticed that they had placed vanilla meringues by the cash counter. I sheepishly asked them if I could have one and then noticed the sign that announced them to be give-aways. How nice.
So after getting my mother load of cupcakes and popping a delightful meringue in my mouth, I was on my way. I made it as far as the car before the first red velvet disappeared.
The only tiny tiny disappointment is that their taxes get added later and you might find yourself walking away lighter than you'd planned.
Just like the name says, every bite of their deserts and cakes are a spoon full of sugar! Things that people should try when they visit this place- all their cheese cakes, the crème Brule, the red velvet cake and the chocolate raspberry cake.×
This is a small but wonderful place to have desserts / cakes / pastries. I had a blueberry cheese cake and it was fresh and delicious. They have very limited sitting space and limited items. So, it's better if you go here in the morning, you'll have more options to pick from. It's a heaven for ones having sweet tooth :)
It's a bit on the expensive side, but the pastries and cakes won't disappoint you at all. With more sitting space, it would have been a 4.5 for me.
Rated Oh God, why is that everything that I like either immoral, illegal or fattening...
Spoonful of Sugar whole heartedly contributes to the last piece of the above lament of mine.
Never before have I had pastries so rich and so well made. A usual ritual of four of us frequent 'Spooners' is to simply close our eyes and roll the pieces of pastries around in our mouths. Pure, divine heaven!!!
Our regular orders are always the Creamy Oreo Cheese Cake and the Chocolate Mud Pie (remember to ask for a topping of cream when ordering for this one!). And they're simply soooo sinfully rich with the cream. Unfortunately, we never end up trying anything else there yet and each time we go there, we keep telling ourselves we'll try something different only to find the same familiar pastries in front of us and the same familiar feeling of delight inside us. Everytime.
Cost wise, it is slightly on the higher side. A good pastry party for four easily costs us about Rs 600/-.
The place is tucked inside a pocket road by the Sri Krishna Temple road (the road parallel to CMH behind the Coffee Day Lounge), the landmark being the nearby Nilgiris supermarket. Parking should not be too much of a problem as there is a mesh of roads all around.
It's a self service joint, and the guys there are very friendly and nice, though I've never seen the proprietor smile - maybe she's just too busy thinking of the refilling the fast moving cakes :) . There's a noticeboard which have clippings of reviews from foreigners, local folks and reviews which came in various newspapers.
Ambiance wise, we four like the table right outside the entrance door. Unfortunately, there's not too much place to sit outside, so you might get the feeling of being a little cramped, especially if you come in a group of maybe six.
Overall, the best pastries I've had in Indiranagar!!!
Love their desserts. Make it a point to drop in at least once even if I am on the other side of the City. And it hasn't disappointed. Their chocolate mousse cake was the standout for me and will gladly go back for more. Haven't tried their sandwiches etc which are on offer, God willing next time.×
Went to this little patisserie on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed at all. Loved the 7 layered rainbow cake, and strawberry tart and the walnut meringue pie was out of the world!×
Amazing desserts... The one stop place to satisfy all your sweet cravings! A special mention for the chocolate/raspberry gateau...a must try !×
Rated you know when you hear the name of a place and it intrigues you enough to wanna visit it... 'Spoonful of sugar' had that effect on me! and i had a quaint, dessert cafe pictured in my head! how true to my imagination the place actually is!! the setting is the epitome of quaint, with tiny tables nestled rather close together in a stone verandah! the place even has a wine falling over the roof! sighhh! <3
There is not really much i can say for the food, except that I expected for it to be a quality dessert cafe and have not been disappointed. EVER. the walnut meringue is a teeny bit too sweet, but oh well. absolutely love their cupcakes, their chocolate creations, and the lemon tart is fa-bu-lous!! I have always been curious and excited to see that massive rainbow cake on their counter, no idea why i have not tried it yet! - someday you shall be mine!!
the staff are cordial and helpful with their suggestions.
Considering the name, i think i will be forgiven for not having tried out any of their entree/savoury dishes.. i still have a long way to go before im done with the dessert menu! ;)
Really enjoyed my Quiche and the endless cups of Green Tea. Ok they weren't endless. Great place to just sit and talk in. Comfortable. Relaxed.×
Am not too much of a desert fan . but when i tried their deserts felt like I could eat it all and more . we ordered 3 different kinds of pastries . sorry don't remember the names . they where all one better than the other . price a little on the higher side but definitely worth . They might be responsible for me turning into a desert freak .×
It's a very small outlet... But nicely presented!
You will surprise to see the menu... No one can beat the taste! Just wow! I m in love with it! They also run classes! Amazing pastries and other dessert...
I hope we can have it at indore ASAP!
I may be a bit picky but this place is where you get the ONLY good cakes in town ! Their baileys and raspberry cake is heaven, and I love to sit at their mini terrace for a quick lunch - quiche tastes french ! I wish the portions weren't so small though... and the staff a bit quicker to serve? Sometimes you wonder if they haven't actually forgotten you were sitting there.
I'd say it's the place to go for all your friends' birthday cakes, don't take a chance :)
The baileys & raspberry gateaux! That's all you need to know.
P.s. The Mississippi mud pie & their red velvet cupcakes are excellent too.
Spoonful of sugar is a very happy, warm and cheerful cafe/bakery. Its my go-to place for cupcakes. I am not very find of chocolate and their chocolate cakes and brownies are the only chocolate items that I really like. I've also tried the quiche and I must say it is delightful and served fresh. But keeping all things aside, I feel that no other place in Bangalore can bake the beautiful red velvet cupcakes they do. Soft on the inside and a little crunchy on the top. Perfect cheesecake frosting and heavenly in taste. One extra point just for the velvets and the service!×
A little bakery near 80 ft road on indhiranagar. Quiet location but amazing snacks. You cannot miss the red velvet cake and mud pie. It's heavenly and bound to leave you with a sugar rush!×
If you love pies and cakes , do not miss this place!
The creme brulee is to die for and the Orea mascorpone pie is just delicious. The coffee tiramisu is also a must try.
The place is just a small room with no seating area but the quality of desserts is mind blowing.
The most expensive desserts I have ever had are from this place :p But they are so worth it !
Rated The name reminds me of what mom says, that during her time, they never had wide variety of desserts. They had to be satisfied with just extra spoonfuls of sugar.
Went there after reading the zomato reviews. Since we didn't know the way Google maps was our guide. We didn't know if it would be open since we had started at about 7;30 pm. On the way found few more sweet shops, should try them next time. Then we finally reached there. It looks like a small bakery there are few chairs inside and we can even sit outside. The display was filled with mouthwatering delicacies. We were like how about we order one of each. The price was only thing dat made us stop and think. Finally we ordered a mini chocolate cup cake, a mini red velvet cupc@ake,crumb fried chicken with salad , latte and a bottle of water. The food was simply awesome. Felt that the quantity was less and the price bit over the top. Overall great food, good ambience, pretty expensive. Definitely planning on going back.
My wife has introduced me to this place and we always doze of our hunger of desserts here in special occasions. Amazing cakes and pastries they have. Plz try their butterscotch cake, carrot cupcake, rose tea cake and banofi cake. Another cup cake is also good which has salted butter on top of a cup cake that one is really different. BUT it's very very expensive. It's a small place and at times in the evenings very crowded. So that makes difficult for the service guys to be very tied up. So don't go Hard on them, be patient and njoy the sweetness.×
SOS (Koramangala) is a bliss for dessert lovers ! Its a simple ambience with seating both inside and outside. And also to mention one of rare food joints which is pet friendly. So, all you ppl who wanna spend a quite evening wit ur pets its The place.
My personal favorite is bannofie original cake, sos plain cake, their chilli herb veg sandwich.
Even their take always are so perfectly packed . excellent is the word !
Its a bit expensive. I guess if was a Lil reasonably priced would have given it 5 stars.
Had the best salmon sandwich here. Fresh and flavorful. The chicken lasagna is pretty awesome too! I wish they would increase the seating a bit!×
The best place for deserts!
If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to head. There are other items on the menu as well, which are decent enough. A little over priced, but worth in once in a while.
Value for money: 2/5
Food : 4/5 ... Great desserts ... Blueberry Cheesecake is a must have and can have lasagne to fill your tummy..
Ambiance : 3/5 ... Cute Little place with just 2 to three tables..
Service : 3.5/5 .. Decent Service but they definitely can do a little more to delight the customers as their desserts do.
Pricing : 3/5 Expensive but worth spending that once in a while.
By far one of the best desserts place in bangalore. We went there after a weekday lunch and had mississippi mud pie and rum balls. Both were very good and highly recommended.×
Started by Sangeeta Damani and now run along with her daughter Yubna Damani (a cordon bleu alumni), A Spoonful Of Sugar is the perfect resting place when you want a wholesome, tasty bite to eat followed by some awesome desserts. If you don't like the overly sweet chocolate or the cream heavy meringues, this is for you. The Banofie pie, the mud pie, the veg lasagna are just some of the delights we tucked into. If your're lucky, she might even allow you to take along your dog! Yubna specialises in vet approved doggie treats that your 4-legged pooch can enjoy while you enjoy yours! I would go back again and again and again. Congrats Sangeeta, Yubna!×
It is a patisserie with a few chairs put in to sit and eat. Wouldn't recommend eating in the bakery.Takeaway is definitely a better option. The blueberry chessecake was absolutely heavenly.Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the red velvet cupcakes, which were just not upto the mark.×
We visited this cafe which is tucked in by lanes of Indiranagar and this cafe has a nice collection of desserts and cakes. Cakes are rather tasty and unique. Must try the blueberry cheesecakes and the red velvet cupcakes cakes which are yummy. A good place for ordering custom cakes and treats :)×
